When looking to relocate, remember what neighborhood you live in is just as important as which house you live in. Keep the type of lifestyle that you lead in the forefront of your mind when you are poking around different neighborhoods.

    1. Take a bit of time and right down exactly what you are looking for in a neighborhood. Things such as the property value, walk score, schools that are near-by, how far your job is and if the neighborhood is a gated community, what does the neighborhood have to offer? Does it have a pool, weight-room, golf course, clubhouse etc? Do you want the city life or a life in the country? Are there any coffee shops near-by, restaurants, movie theaters or museums? Do you like to drive, ride a bike or do you prefer public transit?

    2. Do you want a home with a yard? Maybe you travel a lot and don't have time to maintain your property. A zero lot line home may be right for you. This type of property consists of virtually no property. The structure edges up to or very near the edge of the property line. These types of properties are quite often town homes, row houses or garden homes.

    3. Do you like bustle of the city life? Urban Core neighborhoods may be right for you. Urban Core neighborhoods will bring you close to the nightlife and many of the city attractions. You'll find diversity in your neighbors and an eclectic mix of different types of housing. Parking can be a problem in these types of neighborhoods, so, this could be perfect if you are not one that likes to drive.

    4. Are you a history buff? Maybe living in a Historic neighborhood would be right for you. Finding a nice older single family home in a Colonial or Victorian style may be right up your alley.
